OUR LOVE WALK (PART 3)
This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15: 12 – 13, NLTB.
Hello everyone! Hmmmm (taking a deep breath)…
Where have I been, really?
Been a while I reached out fam, and I’m so sorry for my absence.
Meanwhile, I have a question for y’all: hope your love walk didn’t end after my last post on this same subject? (Smiles…)
Just kidding. If you’ve noticed, I’m coming with plenty preambles today, which is not just my style; but like you know, association is contagious, and right now, I’m trying to write like Maureen Oseji (please you should check her blog out: www.maureenoseji.com), a friend I call ‘Twinny’.
Now, enough of the play! [Clears throat]
We’ve been on the subject of Our Love Walk for a while now, and today meets us on the third part. Here’s a summary of the two previous parts:
Love is our thing as sons of God; therefore, love!
Love is as CHRIST loves us – Love is seen in all what CHRIST has done for us – It is defined by the sacrifice of CHRIST for us.
That done, let’s deal with today’s edition from our theme scripture. Our theme scripture could be summarised like this, the LORD Jesus, our love example, speaking:
- I command you to love each other as I love each one of you;
- There’s no greater love than this; it is the greatest love, that, one would die for his friends.
Dear saints, we have a command to love the brethren; to love them the same way God loves them; to love them the same way God loves us. What’s the scope of this love? Loving them so much we could die for them! Does this sound like I’m exaggerating? Well, the Bible is there for us; let’s be ‘berean-like’ and check for ourselves to find out if I am or not.
Hey fam! God wants us to value people the same way He values them – that’s love! When we value every single believer according to God’s love scale, we are by every standard walking in love (Please read that again). For the umpteenth time, this value system is already embedded in our spirits (Romans 5: 5); 1 Corinthians 13 is already in us – when we read it, we should be reminded of our enormous love potentials in CHRIST.
Listen people, we’ve been commanded, not go in search of love to give, but to give what we already have. It’s in us to love unconditionally and sacrificially. So honey, allow that living stream to flow out of your belly.
I call you blessed. Love you.
Till when next. Yippee!
