THE LORD MY RIGHTEOUSNESS – 2.
In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Jeremiah 23: 6, KJV.)
Hello Your Righteousnesses! Haha! That is a strange way to greet, right? Actually, that’s who we are: the Righteousness of God in CHRIST!
That said, let’s do business!
Yesterday, we were around the zone of the truth, that, the LORD Jesus is our Righteousness; this is because the Righteousness we have is that conferred on us in Him by the Father. This is just how it is – we don’t have any righteousness of our own. Hear the LORD on this in Isaiah 54: 17b:
…This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. (KJV.)
Just the point today’s post intend passing across – the righteousness we have is of God, not ours! And if it’s of God, then it has met God’s standard by default. We are just as righteous as God by God. In CHRIST, we now wear God’s righteousness everywhere as a batch. Glory!
Ephesians 2: 8 – 9 captures it so well:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJV.)
Did you read that part – ‘it is the gift of God’? Our salvation is a gift. Romans 5: 17 tells us what kind of gift it is – a gift of righteousness; and all we have done so far is receive this gift by faith.
Do have a good night!
